You have attended some yoga classes and maybe also have
done some yoga masterclasses, and now you want to get a little bit
more serious about your yoga practice. The decision is made, and on
your next break from the daily rutine, you are going away on a yoga
retreat.
Here are answers to some of the questions you might ask
yourself.
While the distinction between yoga holidays and yoga retreats is
not always lucid, (from time to time organizers have not thought
enough about how to correctly name their course), there is quite a
diversity in terms of focus point and general impression or
environment.
Generally speaking, a yoga holiday is primarily an activity
holiday. The time dedicated daily to yoga usually will not last
more than four hours, in one, or maybe two daily classes, and you
will have plenty time for other activities or just to calm down and
chill out.

Prenatal Yoga For someone who deals with speaking to large
groups daily, I’m an oddly shy person. I don’t like photos,
videos, even calling people on the phone - I have to emerge far
from my comfortable shell. What I aspire to do - my personal
Sankalpa - is open a retreat center to help [...]

Prenatal Yoga Prt5 Bolsters, a stack of Yoga Therapy
Blankets and a Massage table were so familiar to me they are the
props I used to assist myself through my pregnancy, labor and
birth. I recommend bringing a pillow, blanket or bolster to yoga
class with you during pregnancy so you can assure that you are

My baby girl has recently started having solid food. She got
constipated. One would imagine that the only thing that it would
affect, would be her demeanor, as she was pretty uncomfortable. In
fact, this constipation made other things come out of alignment.
She was unable to process her food properly because nothing was
really moving She threw up. A lot. This made me very worried, as
she had never done that before! This is this week’s yoga class
theme. Listen to find out what my very wise Randy had to say and
how it all turned out Oh yeah, the class was recorded on April 22
at the Pittsburgh Athletic Association
Just to let you all know. I’m plan on supplementing the live
yoga classes with little extra episodes sprinkled here and there.
Since the yoga classes themselves are so long, I never want to make
my intro more than 6 minutes, as you really need to be getting to
practicing! Given this predicament, I’ve decided to address emails,
questions and feedback that I get from you guys in another
supplement...

At 6:10 pm, I leave the house carrying three books (two to
return to the Los Angeles Public Library, and one on Oscar Wilde by
Richard Ellmann to read before class begins), my yoga mat and my
blackberry.
The spasm goes away as I ignore Steve’s email, and shift my
books and yoga mat to the opposite arm. I should go home but I
don’t want to be home tonight. I have one book due today at the
library. I don’t want to pay a fine.
At yoga, I find sitting with my blackberry in my shirt pocket
provides too much stress to my back and I put my phone away in my
man purse.
When the hubbub dies down, I start chatting with the other
actress next to me. Next month, both actresses graduate from level
one teacher training in Kundalini Yoga.
"All my life," says the brunette, "I’ve been looking for God.
I’ve finally found Him in myself. I’ve had some profound
experiences of Him through doing this yoga."

In this week’s episode I talk about LISTENING. It was all
brought about by my latest venture: teaching other yoga
teachers/professionals to podcast. I actually did my first
‘virtual’ workshop! It was very cool. Anyway, within the workshop I
explained why I’m partial to an AUDIO yoga class as opposed to
VIDEO. Y’all can listen to my intro to find out why

This is the first time in yoga class that I’ve been instructed
to touch someone. Normally I do it out of my own volition and it’s
created some very unfortunate incidents. But this is legal!
I’m ecstacy! I’m pumping a hot chick in yoga class chanting some
bit of Hindu idolatry and she’s balling!

10-01-2006 Students and people in general, are gifts and lessons
in life. No two students will ever be the same in their ability,
potential or learning style. Honoring my students means many things
to me, and I use these ideas to help guide my teaching. First, I
view it as an honor to have a student [...]
